The Hotel Lohningerhof is the perfect destination for foodies who love trying out new things. Head chef Herbert Satz and his team use only the very best produce to create their interesting and inventive dishes. Many of the ingredients are sourced directly from farmers and producerss in the region, meaning they travel just a few kilometres from the field to the frying pan. Local delicacies include:
- many varities of tangy cheese,
- fine meat,
- fresh herbs from the surrounding mountains and meadows,
- sweet fruits,
- great seasonal produce.
These fresh ingredients are mixed with a healthy dose of creativity and great attention to detail to create delicious meals in our in-house restaurant.

Whatever the time of year, guests staying at our hotel in Maria Alm can look forward to great food breakfast through to dinner. The day starts with a healthy and hearty breakfast buffet Frühstück and concludes with a delicious evening meal comprising several courses. In the warm summer months we invite guests to dine with us in our covered garten, the location for our weekly barbeque evenings.
During the cold months of the year our spacious winter garden is the perfect place to admire the Hochkönig mountain and the Steinernes Meer plateau covered in a thick layer of snow as you enjoy the culinary creations cooked up by our team of chefs.

The best way to enjoy one of the fine meals created by our team of chefs is with the perfect wine. At the Hotel Lohningerhof we have a well-stocked wine cellar with a range of excellent wines chosen in consultation with our chefs. Your hosts Christine and Franz Lohninger and all the other trained membrs of the service team will be happy to help you choose the right wine to go with your meal.
